After showing her works in two group exhibitions at Jarmuschek + Partner, we are now very pleased to present Charlene Hahne with her rst solo exhibition in our gallery. For OUTERSIDE, the artist coming from the Bauhaus University Weimar has created a special concept for the space at Potsdamer Strasse, in which both installative elements and paintings will be on display.
Landscape as a symbol and the modularity of its graphic components always play a role in Charlene Hahnes art. On the basis of this topic and often by using only derived abbreviations and symbols, she explores the spatial dimensions of abstraction in her latest works. She questions the boundaries of painting, expanding the original scope of the discipline itself. In large-format canvases, the actual subject is sometimes condensed to a structural level. At the same time, the material itself appears as a spatial element.
